Required Experience
The ideal candidate for this position should have 6 months to 2 years of experience in software testing or a related field.
Prior experience in the software, financial, or banking industries is preferred.
Knowledge of market infrastructures, such as SWIFT and/or SIX, Fed&Chips services, is desirable.
Experience with STP Engine testing, particularly in transaction banking and/or payments gateways, is highly valued.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Linux applications is required. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, and excellent customer service skills are necessary.
The ability to work independently or as part of a team, multitask, and handle multiple projects simultaneously is also essential.
Familiarity with quality assurance methods and techniques, as well as the software development lifecycle, is preferred.
Strong planning and organizational skills, attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills, and an ability to think creatively to improve processes are all essential.
The candidate should also be comfortable working with specialized software tools and be able to effectively implement and evaluate new processes or plans.
Additionally, knowledge of the Agile software development methodology is preferred.
Job Responsibilities
As an Associate QA Engineer, your responsibilities and deliverables will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Creating test cases based on product specifications
- Executing test plans and test cases and compiling results
- Setting up and maintaining personal testing environments, and potentially team testing environments
- Assisting in the review of software development processes to improve product quality
- Tracking defects from detection to resolution and working with developers to reproduce and resolve defects
- Communicating with stakeholders on product issues
- Acquiring and maintaining knowledge of existing products, operations, or systems
- Reviewing product documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy
- Providing support to stakeholders prior to the release of software
- Creating and/or running SQL scripts to populate data and validate test results
- Designing and maintaining a test library, including creating and designing test cases
- Developing and maintaining test scripts for automation purposes
- Providing testing effort estimates for enhancements.
