Maersk Off Campus Hiring 2025 – Intern – Finance
Key Responsibilities
This role is essential in delivering accounting services within the organization. The individual will handle a range of accounting and reporting activities on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities include processing purchase and sales invoices, posting period-end accounting entries, executing month-end routines, making necessary general ledger (GL) adjustments, finalizing the trial balance, and performing post-closure activities such as account reconciliation.
Accounts Payables:
- Accurately process, code, and match invoices and travel & expense (T&E) claims in compliance with company policies.
- Communicate with global suppliers and internal teams to resolve invoice and expense claim queries promptly and professionally.
- Ensure proper approvals for invoices and expense claims, facilitating timely payments and clearing outstanding invoices.
- Reconcile supplier accounts and review aged creditors reports, prioritizing the clearance of debit balances in vendor accounts.
- Manage email inquiries related to invoices and perform associated tasks, including scanning invoices into the system.
Accounts Receivables:
- Implement and maintain effective invoicing and collection processes in line with company policies.
- Review daily bank receipts and apply appropriate cash allocation to clear sales invoices.
- Monitor the aged debtors report, take necessary actions to ensure timely collections, and prevent overdue balances.
- Establish strong communication with internal teams and customers to support efficient collections.
General Ledger and Reporting:
- Record monthly journal entries accurately.
- Execute period-end accounting procedures in Business Central.
- Finalize the trial balance and perform balance sheet reconciliations.
- Make necessary GL adjustments when required.
- Prepare documentation for statutory and internal audits and coordinate with auditors.
- Ensure full compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
The preferred candidate should have the following qualifications and attributes:
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance with 0-1 year of experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Prior experience with MS Dynamics Business Central is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
- Ability to perform efficiently in a fast-paced environment while meeting tight deadlines.
- Capability to manage responsibilities independently.
