Responsibilities
Role Overview:
A Cloud Operations Engineer plays a crucial role in architecting, implementing, maintaining, and enhancing cloud-based infrastructure and services. The position involves ensuring high availability, optimal performance, and strong security of cloud applications and resources. This role demands solid knowledge of cloud platforms, automation techniques, and adherence to industry best practices.
Typical Daily Responsibilities:
- Oversee and carry out routine activities to monitor and maintain cloud infrastructure, ensuring service reliability and data protection
- Manage and resolve tickets by identifying, analyzing, and addressing incidents
- Participate in rotating 24/7 on-call duties to handle and resolve critical production issues
- Monitor and manage system resources, including memory, storage, and CPU usage
- Enhance customer satisfaction through ongoing infrastructure tuning and optimization
- Apply updates and patches to operating systems and application software
- Conduct root cause analysis of recurring issues and major outages across the technology stack
- Design and implement automated solutions using monitoring tools to handle frequent problems or maintain system stability
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field
- 0 to 2 years of hands-on experience in application support within a cloud environment
- 0 to 2 years of experience assisting customers with technical and application support
- Basic understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- Familiarity with artificial intelligence tools and platforms
- Working knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and configurations
- Strong analytical skills, clear communication, and high attention to detail
