Job Description
S&P Global Inc. is currently seeking a Software Development Engineer to join their team.
Candidate Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with development teams to create solutions and implement enhancements.
- Streamlining manual and repetitive software-related tasks related to building, deploying, and managing operations.
- Contributing to research and analysis of existing and emerging technologies to bolster the organization’s DevOps capabilities.
- Ensuring that solutions are tailored to their intended purpose, comply with security, risk, and audit standards, meet customer expectations, and do not lead to high-severity outages.
- Promoting knowledge sharing by working closely with individuals and teams.
- Regularly adding to the team’s knowledge base, product wikis, and support documentation.
- Maintaining comprehensive documentation of environment details and ensuring timely and accurate updates to stakeholders.
- Designing and developing software products.
Requirements:
- Applicants should be final-year students pursuing a B.Tech degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
- Proficiency in programming using Python, C#, Java, or other languages and a solid understanding of object-oriented programming concepts.
- Familiarity with databases, including SQL and PL-SQL, query writing, and relational database management systems (RDBMS).
- Capability to document requirements and specifications effectively.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to produce clear, concise, and detailed documentation.
- Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and technical troubleshooting skills.
- Willingness to work in a 24/5 environment with rotational shifts.
- Basic knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems, networking, 3-tier applications, and cloud technologies (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google) will be advantageous. Familiarity with GitHub is also a plus.
