Job Description


Responsibilities of a Quality Assurance Analyst:

  1. Develop comprehensive test plans for new implementations and release testing workflows.
  2. Execute test plans and downstream workflows manually for frequent releases.
  3. Provide manual testing support for new implementations and address technical debt.
  4. Participate as a quality advocate in the development process, ensuring testability from design to coding phases.
  5. Assist in the deployment of builds within the CI/CD pipeline.
  6. Strive for increased automation coverage of test cases, promoting the Shift-Left Methodology.
  7. Compose ATPs (Acceptance Test Plans) for test cases/workflows provided by the Functional Engineer (FE) in the product.
  8. Utilize the in-house framework or collaborate with the team to establish a framework for ATPs.
  9. Collaborate with the Functional Engineer (FE) to validate automation feasibility for test scenarios.
  10. Demonstrate a strong understanding of the Product Code.
  11. Generate reports on unit test and ATP coverage.
  12. Collaborate closely with the Scrum team and QA members to ensure proper ATP implementation for product developments.
  13. Adhere to the QA process (Scrum) and minimize QA-reported bugs/issues upon ATP creation/execution completion.
  14. Work with the Manager to prioritize the Automation backlog.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Engineering
  • 0 to 2 years of experience with Java or C++ and API testing.

  • Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating with overseas counterparts.

Overview of Position:

Hexagon is currently seeking a dynamic individual for the role of “Quality Assurance Analyst/Software Design Engineer in Test.” This position involves both manual and automated software testing activities for an Engineering Software application. The role will focus on enhancing and expanding capabilities related to 3D model software, encompassing areas such as import, export, persistency, display, navigation, and user interaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Engage in manual testing of the product based on project requirements.
  2. Define test plans and test cases, conduct product testing, report identified bugs, and engage with stakeholders on testing matters.
  3. Develop test plans for new implementations and release testing workflows.
  4. Create ATPs for the product using the in-house framework or collaborate with the team to develop a framework.
  5. Maximize automation coverage for test cases to promote the Shift-Left Methodology.
  6. Collaborate with the development team as a quality advocate, ensuring code testability from design to coding phases.

Success in this role hinges on effective quality assurance and automation skills. Essential attributes include teamwork, a strong work ethic, innovative thinking, and a rigorous problem-solving approach.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in Java or C++ programming languages and API testing.
  • Sound grasp of Object-Oriented Programming concepts.
  • Familiarity with Microservices architecture.
  • Experience with the Postman tool.
  • Competence in hand-coding using automation tools like Selenium, Coded UI, or similar tools utilizing Java or C++.
  • Familiarity with JMeter is a plus.
