Primary job responsibilities:
• 12-month contract role (FTC)
• Engage in various writing tasks to train generative AI models.
• Sample work tasks may include:
- Ranking a series of responses generated by an AI model.
- Composing a short story based on a given topic.
- Assessing the factual accuracy of text produced by an AI model.
- Researching and evaluating content quality according to Content Guidelines, approving or rejecting content based on predefined criteria, and providing logical reasoning for decisions.
- Conducting thorough content checks to ensure quality and accuracy in accordance with policy guidelines.
- Analyzing data and identifying trends/patterns.
- Offering recommendations for improving content guidelines based on identified patterns and findings.
- Utilizing authoritative sources and external websites to validate catalog data as required.
- Providing remedial instruction in tool usage and other relevant topics.
- Maintaining high internal process quality through quality audits and verification.
- Delivering specific and timely feedback to streamline existing processes and enhance team performance and output quality.
- Acting as a subject matter expert for processes on the floor, collaborating with project teams to test new SOPs related to quality management tasks.
A typical day in the role:
We are seeking a Data Associate (DA) responsible for foundational labeling tasks, such as evaluating dialogue in speech and text data, to assess and enhance Alexa’s performance in everyday scenarios. About the team:
The Alexa Data Services (ADS) organization offers data creation, curation, and analytics services that contribute to the development, testing, and training of Alexa AI. We collaborate closely with Amazon Machine Learning (ML) Science and Modeling teams to build groundbreaking products, providing them with vital data to enhance Alexa’s speech recognition and language understanding capabilities.

Minimum qualifications:
• Exceptional proficiency in written English communication, along with professional writing experience.
• Skilled creative writers, translators, freelancers holding a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent, to assist in training generative artificial intelligence models to improve writing skills.
• Certification in any of the following fields: Content Writing, Creative Writing, English Literature, English, Literary Arts, Linguistics, English as a Second Language Teaching (EU only).
• Ability to make logical decisions even when presented with ambiguous information.
• Keen eye for detail and the ability to swiftly transition between different requirements.
• Research skills to navigate and synthesize multiple resources, including a basic understanding of academic integrity and avoiding plagiarism.
• This role requires on-site presence, flexibility in working hours (including night shifts), and meeting delivery targets.
Preferred qualifications:
• Prior experience of 0-2 years, with a preference for familiarity with US culture, or experience in multicultural communication.
• Proficiency in computer skills, including MS Office, with a typing speed of over 50 words per minute.
