Position Overview:
Altair is in search of Software QA Engineers to ensure the quality of desktop applications and enterprise web applications, developed using the latest advancements in technology. Our platform incorporates cutting-edge elements such as web components, K8s containerization, agile development practices, and CI/CD processes. Collaborating closely with Product Owners, Developers, and Development Operations, the QA team plays a pivotal role in ensuring smooth progress of new code through the software development lifecycle, with an unwavering commitment to quality. Furthermore, our QA team actively engages in testing novel technologies in the fields of ML Ops, data analytics, and data science.
The chosen candidate will play a critical part in automating and validating Altair’s products across multiple platforms. Additionally, you’ll collaborate with other QA Engineers within Altair as a vital member of our Quality Center of Excellence, contributing to Security Testing, Performance Testing, Automation, and more.
As a member of the Quality Center of Excellence, you’ll work closely with product management, software development, and applications engineering teams. Success in this role hinges on your ability to operate efficiently, collaborate effectively, think critically, and maintain productivity within the fast-paced and prolific engineering environment we foster.

Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with the Program Management team to devise a comprehensive Validation and Testing Strategy for the product suite Craft and review detailed, well-structured test cases Execute test suites, interpret test outcomes, and monitor software testing metrics. Employ relevant metrics, create test reports, and present findings Identify and report bugs, providing clear steps to replicate and potentially diagnose the root cause (including examining log files and utilizing QA/Dev tools) Take ownership of the automation framework, leading the design and development of automation scripts for web UI and web service APIs, while also organizing test suites Promote collaboration and effective communication across the QA team, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and drive initiatives forward (including Development, DevOps, Product Management, and Documentation) Coordinate with internal teams such as developers and product managers, and participate in bug triaging Lead the integration and adoption of highly automated product certification testing within our CI/CD processes Comprehend customer use cases, delve into software development intricacies, and formulate QA strategies to gauge product confidence Estimate, prioritize, plan, and synchronize testing activities
Qualifications:
Essentials:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field 0 – 3 years of experience in software QA testing Solid grasp of QA software testing principles Familiarity with programming languages such as C#, Java, and Python Proficiency in automation frameworks like Selenium, Katalon, BDD, etc. Strong analytical skills Effective communication abilities Demonstrated aptitude for rapid learning, self-motivation, and robust teamwork
