Quality Assurance Associate
Job Summary
The role of the Quality Assurance Associate involves promptly assessing the quality of print book files and making decisions in accordance with specifications and instructions. The QA associate is accountable for ensuring the final file quality and must possess the ability to accurately determine whether a file meets or fails to meet specifications. Strong attention to detail and adaptability to updated instructions are essential. The candidate should exhibit professionalism, work autonomously, navigate decision-driven workflows effectively, and be proficient in tracking data using Excel. The position also requires maturity and the ability to review explicit adult content from a clinical perspective, which may include nudity and strong language.
Primary Objectives
- Conduct rapid visual reviews of print book files based on specifications and training.
- Perform repetitive tasks that necessitate making judgment-based decisions in accordance with the provided guidelines in the standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Compare each task against the specifications outlined in the SOPs.
- Work autonomously within general workflow guidelines to meet targets and timelines.
- Exercise fair judgment in performing tasks based on the instructions provided by Subject Matter Experts, managers, or SOPs.
- Effectively communicate any questions to Quality Assurance Specialists and Quality Assurance Leads.
- Record daily work data using Excel.
Basic Qualifications
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft systems, including Word and Excel.
- Fluent spoken and written English language skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment driven by software systems and processes.
- Ability to troubleshoot and make quick visual decisions based on training.
- Availability to work on weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience in the publishing industry.
- Experience in quality assurance.
- Experience in data tracking.
- Aptitude for quickly learning new systems and software.
- Strong multitasking and prioritization skills, with excellent organizational and follow-up abilities.
