Job Description
The Opportunity: Data Centre Operations Tech
This role offers a unique opportunity to work in some of the most advanced data centers in the world. ADSIPL’s data centers are large-scale, high-density facilities where you will be at the forefront of shaping Cloud technology in India.
A Data Centre Operations Tech at ADSIPL serves as the primary point of contact for both internal customers (e.g., Network Engineers, Systems Engineers, Software Developers, Database Engineers, Technical Operations) and external customers (Hardware Vendors, Contractors, Service Providers, and more).
Each day brings new challenges, ensuring there is never a dull moment. Some of the key responsibilities for this role include:
Problem Solving:
- Serving as an escalation point and technical troubleshooter for all Systems and Network hardware issues.
- Investigating and resolving Linux server issues.
- Troubleshooting XEN service virtualization problems.
Technical:
- Diagnosing technical issues across various platforms, including Systems, Networking, and Power/Mechanical.
- Addressing physical layer outages in both Systems and Network.
- Resolving physical power issues on racks.
- Participating in Data Center power and cooling events.
Operations:
- Meeting 24×7 On-Call requirements and responding during shift rotations.
- Installing and configuring racks of hosts in line with internal SLAs.
- Triaging and resolving trouble tickets for all devices in your region.
- Serving as the Data Center point of contact for all High Severity issues.
- Physically replacing server and network device components.
- Ensuring proper rotation of parts and spares.
- Contributing to defining metrics to enhance customer uptime.
- Enforcing Security Best Practices at ADSIPL.
- Collaborating with third-party vendors and contractors.
- Providing ideas to improve operational efficiency.
Project Management:
- Participating in and delivering on various high-impact small to mid-scale projects.
- Attending internal team meetings at ADSIPL for metric analysis and project status updates.
- Assisting in building India’s largest Cloud infrastructure.
Mentoring:
- Sharing knowledge and educating less technical staff on best practices related to break-fix issues.
Hiring:
- Contributing to building a great team by participating in the ADSIPL’s hiring process and candidate interviews.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Solid understanding of Linux/Unix Administration.
- Experience in troubleshooting server hardware.
- Familiarity with server booting processes: POST, BIOS, PXE, Kickstart, GRUB/LILO, RAID.
- Some experience with Network Protocols: TCP/IP, Ethernet, L2/L3 technologies.
- Knowledge of network hardware, including Copper and Optical Fiber Cabling, Switches, and Routers.
- Strong communication skills.
- Passion for IT infrastructure and hardware.
*Please note that this position involves a physical component, requiring the ability to lift and rack equipment up to 20kg and may require working in cramped spaces or at elevated locations while adhering to health and safety guidelines. *This role includes 24×7 shift rotation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with remote access tools: Console routers, IPMI, BMC.
- Expertise in network equipment installation and configuration.
- Knowledge of Cisco IOS, NX-OS, JunOS.
- Understanding of redundancy, including power feeds, ATS, Server Hardware, RAID, and Network Connectivity.
- Familiarity with Data Center Operations, including Inventory Management, Hot/Cold Aisles, and Security.
- Participation in Project Management.
- Experience or knowledge of AWS products such as EC2, EBS, and S3.
- Scripting skills in Bash, Python, Perl, Ruby, or other programming languages.
