Job Description

The team aims to facilitate the professional growth of the incumbent in the following ways:

  1. Risk Management Expertise: Acquire a deep understanding of key risk management principles and apply innovative concepts to measure and manage risk throughout American Express (AXP) in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  2. Collaborative Exposure: Gain valuable experience by collaborating with various risk and business teams across American Express, thereby broadening exposure to multiple products, strategies, and business processes within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting SCCL Workstream: Contribute to the Single Counterparty Credit Limits (SCCL) workstream under Project Fast Forward by developing reporting requirements in line with SCCL regulations, identifying exposure types within the SCCL scope, establishing methodologies to calculate and aggregate exposure for Single Counterparties, constructing a governance framework for ongoing daily monitoring of the largest obligors, conducting reviews to provide effective challenge to first-line teams, and ensuring the comprehensiveness, accuracy, and timeliness of counterparty exposure data.

Qualifications:

Experience and Background:

  • Credit Risk Management: Possess experience in credit risk management.
  • 0 – 2 Years Experience: Ideally, have 0 to 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Analytical Skills: Demonstrate strong analytical skills and business acumen with a risk-reward control perspective.
  • Data-Driven Tools: Exhibit proficiency in using data-driven analytical tools such as SQL, SAS, HIVE/HADOOP, R, and Python.
  • Effective Communication: Ability to clearly communicate oversight findings to credit risk peers, business partners, and senior leaders.
  • Challenge-Oriented: Show the courage to challenge the status quo.
  • Prioritization Skills: Prove the ability to successfully manage multiple priorities under pressure.
  • Collaborative Approach: Demonstrate a proven ability to collaborate with colleagues across the company.
