Responsibilities:
As a Data Analyst Intern, you will collaborate closely with business teams to support data-driven decision-making. This role involves working across functions with the Business, Product, and Data Engineering teams. In addition to addressing specific business challenges, you will be responsible for preparing reports and dashboards, automating repetitive processes, and sharing insights derived from data analysis.
Key Duties:
- Gather and understand requirements from relevant business teams, identify the core business objectives, and design scalable solutions.
- Retrieve and explore data from databases and other available sources, perform data cleaning to address missing values or inconsistencies, and ensure data quality.
- Translate cleaned data into meaningful insights and communicate them effectively to the intended audience.
- Automate recurring data-related processes and solutions.
- Report any data integrity or quality issues to the Data Engineering team for resolution.
- Ensure that the recommended actions based on insights are implemented by the business teams.
- Review and validate new business requirements before final approval.
- Share knowledge and findings within the team and externally when required.
Requirements:
- Strong proficiency in SQL and/or Hive Query Language, with the ability to work on complex and nested queries.
- Experience with Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel, including skills in basic data cleaning, pivot tables, and data exploration.
- Familiarity with at least one data visualization platform (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, MicroStrategy, Metabase).
- Basic automation skills in Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of data handling in R or Python is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills to interpret business needs and present actionable insights.
- A curious mindset with a passion for exploring and understanding data.
