Job Description
Blackhawk Network – Software Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Develop clean, efficient, and maintainable code that is easy to test and understand.
- Design and build scalable, high-performance systems with strong fault tolerance and automated recovery mechanisms.
- Manage and enhance rapidly growing products that play a key role for partners.
- Share innovative ideas and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve Blackhawk’s technology ecosystem.
- Work closely with architects, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver impactful features and improvements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Experience in software development using Core Java and J2EE.
- Proficient in Java (JDK 1.6 or newer) with hands-on experience.
- Familiarity with Spring and Struts frameworks, and experience in multithreaded programming.
- Knowledge of RESTful architecture and API development using REST Web Services.
- Understanding of database design with DB2, Oracle, or MySQL and proficiency in SQL.
- Strong grasp of object-oriented design principles.
- Excellent communication and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Prior experience in the finance or payments domain is advantageous.
