Job Description


Ciena is currently seeking candidates for the position of Technical Support Engineer!

Candidate Responsibilities:

  • Offer initial technical support to customers utilizing BluePlanet ROA software, addressing and resolving software and system-related issues.
  • Collaborate closely with the engineering team to identify, document, and resolve product bugs and concerns.
  • Aid in the creation and upkeep of technical documentation, such as user manuals and knowledge base articles.
  • Uphold high levels of customer satisfaction by maintaining clear communication and swift issue resolution.
  • Engage with customers on a daily basis to address production and deployment issues, providing feedback to the broader Ciena team for resolution.
  • Develop strategies to mitigate customer dissatisfaction resulting from functionality limitations.
  • Provide constructive feedback to the account/PLM/R&D community to enhance product functionality in future iterations.
  • Serve as the internal customer advocate at Ciena and as the primary support contact for customers.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in network engineering, systems engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • Preferably, candidates should have experience in a work placement with an equipment vendor in the Telco industry.
  • Holding a CCNA certification or an equivalent level of qualification would be advantageous.
