Key Responsibilities
- Designs and implements data structures and pipelines according to set standards to organize, collect, standardize, and transform data, supporting insights generation and reporting needs.
- Ensures data quality throughout the process—from ingestion to final loading into target tables.
- Develops standardized frameworks for ingesting structured and unstructured data, with a focus on data quality monitoring and reporting.
- Creates standard methods for data consumption by end users and downstream applications, including database views, extracts, and APIs.
- Develops and maintains information systems like data warehouses and data lakes, including data access APIs.
- Contributes to solution implementation via data architecture, engineering, or manipulation across both on-premise platforms like Kubernetes and Teradata and cloud platforms like Databricks.
- Determines the most suitable storage platform, whether on-premise (minIO, Teradata) or cloud-based (AWS S3, Redshift), based on privacy, access, and sensitivity requirements.
- Tracks data lineage from source to the final semantic layer, including transformation rules, to facilitate troubleshooting and impact analysis.
- Collaborates with technology and platform management teams to optimize data sourcing and processing rules, ensuring data quality and process efficiency.
- Manages data migrations and conversions as data platforms evolve and new standards emerge.
- Proactively identifies and resolves technical issues using knowledge of policies and processes.
- Consistently applies data sensitivity, privacy regulations, and Information Lifecycle Management principles.
- Monitors system notifications and logs to uphold quality standards for databases and applications. Resolves complex issues by reusing existing data files and flags.
- Addresses critical issues and shares insights on data sources, including trends and aggregate volumes.
- Exercises independent judgment and discretion in significant matters.
- Maintains regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Must be available to work nights, weekends, and variable schedules as needed.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Applicants with a combination of coursework, relevant experience, or extensive related professional experience may also be considered.
