Job Responsibilities
As a software quality assurance professional, your primary responsibility is to ensure the quality of software products by designing, developing, and implementing automated tests.
To accomplish this, you must work closely with software development teams to understand the software requirements and design automated tests that validate the functionality.
Your duties also include writing and maintaining automated test scripts and test plans, collaborating with other software quality assurance and development team members to identify and resolve defects and improve the overall software testing process, implementing and maintaining continuous integration and continuous delivery processes, and debugging and diagnosing software defects while working with development teams to resolve them.
In addition, it is essential to keep abreast of the latest software testing methodologies, tools, and technologies to stay current in the field.
Requirements
To qualify for the position, candidates are required to have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Additionally, applicants must possess strong experience with automated testing and test-driven development, proficiency in at least one programming language (such as Java, Python, or C#), and knowledge of databases and SQL is preferred.
A solid understanding of software testing techniques and methodologies, including unit testing, integration testing, and functional testing is also necessary.
Familiarity with test automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium, JUnit, and TestNG is expected, as well as the ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
Experience with continuous integration and delivery processes and tools like Jenkins, CircleCI, etc., is desirable.
Furthermore, the candidate should have excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and written and verbal communication skills. Finally, strong teamwork and collaboration skills are a must-have.
