Job Description
Firstsource – Associate – Software Engineer
Position Summary:
The Software Engineer is responsible for developing software solutions using a variety of technologies, including cloud-based platforms. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, proficiency in programming and database systems, and the capability to design interactive user interfaces for both web and desktop applications. Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows and Unix is essential. Experience with artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and data science is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop software applications across front-end (web/desktop), back-end (Java/.NET/Python), and database layers
- Follow best practices in software design, coding, testing (unit and regression), and deployment
- Collaborate effectively within an agile development environment
- Provide regular updates and progress reports to project stakeholders
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and obtain relevant certifications as needed
- AI/ML and data science experience is advantageous
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Java, .NET, Python, or Node.js
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript and experience with frameworks such as Angular, ReactJS, or ASP.NET
- Experience working with RDBMS like Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL, along with solid SQL skills
- Preferred experience with tools such as Liquibase or Hibernate
- Understanding of DevOps practices (e.g., Azure DevOps) and cloud platforms like AWS or Azure
- Familiarity with the software development lifecycle, debugging, and adherence to coding standards
- Experience in deploying and managing applications on cloud environments
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Exposure to containerization tools like Docker and version control systems like Git
- Familiarity with AI/ML libraries such as scikit-learn, Keras, PyTorch, and relevant Python frameworks
- Basic knowledge of statistical analysis and mathematical modeling techniques
