Job Description
Responsibilities
The incumbent will serve as a Data Engineer specializing in Python and SQL within the AWS (Amazon Web Services) Cloud environment, collaborating with a team of Quantitative Analysts, Modelers, and various business and technology units.
This role is dedicated to delivering both tactical and strategic solutions to support the operational processes and analytics of the bank.
The team member will actively participate in an Agile environment, collaborating closely with colleagues in India and the United States, performing development tasks, and providing essential system support for the project.
The position provides an opportunity to overhaul, redesign, and re-engineer platforms to address data distribution and orchestration challenges.
To excel in this role, the selected candidate must possess a comprehensive understanding of banking technology, the ability to analyze requirements, identify data sources, and communicate effectively with downstream systems.
Qualifications we are looking for!
Minimum Qualifications/Skills
- BE/B Tech/MCA
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications/Skills
- Proficient experience in Python
- Familiarity with Spark SQL, Spark Streaming, and Spark
- Solid IT experience, including expertise in Hadoop, Hive, and HBase
- Strong understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms, and Object-Oriented Design
- Proficiency in SQL, including design and development with a deep understanding of optimization techniques (e.g., DB2, Oracle, Teradata, SQL Server)
- Good knowledge of AWS Cloud Platform and its services, including EC2, EMR, Glue, Redshift, RDS, Athena, Lake Formation, and Containers
- Effective communication skills
- Hands-on experience with stream processing applications such as Kafka, KSQL, and understanding of low-level Kafka inner workings and partitioning schemes
- Familiarity with versioning tools like GIT and SVN
- Innovative problem-solving skills with an emphasis on efficiency and logic
- Development experience in both Agile and Waterfall development methodologies
- Strong grasp of distributed architecture, including web services and messaging
- Previous work experience in the financial services industry, specifically in Cards, Payments, and Banking
- Experience in AWS/microservices
