Job Description

HSBC is currently seeking candidates for the position of Software Engineer.

Candidate Responsibilities:

  1. Designing and implementing test automation using Java Selenium WebDriver, IntelliJ, Maven, JUnit, and Cucumber.
  2. Conducting API testing with tools such as Postman, RestAssured, and Tosca.
  3. Working on stabilizing the existing regression suite and updating it to align with the latest code base.
  4. Ensuring the design and maintenance of regression packs are synchronized with software releases.
  5. Participating in Sprint planning sessions and providing sequencing for user story development to facilitate test progress within the sprint.
  6. Offering an informed perspective on test estimation activities and test metrics based on application knowledge, domain expertise, and testing experience.

Requirements:

  1. Proficient in Selenium with Java for test automation.
  2. Experience with Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) frameworks like Cucumber.
  3. API testing expertise using tools such as Postman, RestAssured, Tosca, or Karate framework.
  4. Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and clear Java fundamentals.
  5. Hands-on experience in agile methodologies with proficiency in the JIRA tool.
  6. Competence in both Automation and Manual Testing, including the creation of test scenarios from requirement documents/user stories.
  7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and strong stakeholder management skills.
  8. Customer-oriented mindset with high interpersonal sensitivity, effective communication, and judgment skills.
  9. Nice to have experience working with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools like Jenkins. Integration with the grid server and BrowserStack would be advantageous.
