Job Description:
- Creation of various aspects of chip design, including:
- Device cell and block level layouts
- Block level floor plans
- Generation of abstract views
- RC extraction
- Schematic layout verification and debugging
- Utilization of phases in physical design development, such as:
- Parasitic extraction
- Clock generation
- Custom polygon editing
- Auto place and route algorithms
- Floor planning
- Full chip assembly
- RV DFM Density and verification
- Troubleshooting design issues and implementing proactive interventions
- Potential involvement in scheduling staffing, execution, and verification of complex chip development
- Execution of project methodologies and/or flow developments
Qualifications:
- Educational background: BE or BTech or equivalent technical degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering
- Proficiency in Layout Designing
- Experience and skills:
- Proficiency in multiple levels of layout design, including data path, register files, and standard cell designs
- Proficiency in floor planning activities, including FUB/unit level assembly, routing, and integration of custom blocks into the FC floor plan
- Ability to understand issues of RC delay, electromigration, self-heating, and cross capacitance
- Ability to identify failure-prone layout structures and seek guidance from engineers to produce electrically robust layouts
