As a Customer Solutions Engineering (CSE) Product Engineer, you’ll serve as the technical expert responsible for identifying the most suitable KONE products tailored to customer requirements. You’ll play a vital role in transforming customer needs into precise, product-specific features and guide technical aspects from pre-sales to execution — especially for non-standard solutions such as escalators, autowalks, machine-room-less systems, high-rise elevators, modernization (ReGenerate/ReNova), or even third-party integrations. Once an order is placed, you will continue to oversee product engineering responsibilities.

- Familiarity with regional norms, regulations, and building codes
Responsibilities Overview
Collaboration with Sales & Solution Design
- Analyze customer needs to propose ideal product configurations, particularly for modernization or special cases
- Determine the correct platform and features to include in proposals
Cost and Specification Planning
- Coordinate with installation, supply chain, and maintenance teams to evaluate total lifecycle costs
- Deliver accurate cost breakdowns and draft custom technical specifications
- Perform energy efficiency assessments and basic traffic flow analysis
Engineering Accountability
- Conduct on-site technical assessments
- Oversee the accuracy and completeness of technical documentation between milestones MS 0b and MS 2z
Product Availability & Feasibility
- Verify product lead times with suppliers and local sources
- Ensure proposed solutions are installation-ready, even in complex site conditions
Lifecycle & Compliance Assurance
- Ensure product design meets maintenance expectations and long-term usability
- Identify deviations in standard maintenance and provide appropriate technical resolutions
- Validate alignment with safety standards, local laws, environmental guidelines, and KONE’s engineering policies

Project Execution Phase
- Create layout drawings and manage any required design changes
- Assist CSE Specialists with material orders and ensure documentation accuracy
- Communicate relevant technical information to the Project Manager and site teams
Post-Delivery and Support
- Share technical knowledge with service teams and offer training to field staff as required
- Contribute to the engineering knowledge base and help refine internal tools and sales configurators
