Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop production-ready, data-driven models and analytical solutions aimed at addressing specific business challenges, aligning with both business and operational needs.
- Utilize advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI methodologies to extract business value from diverse data sources, leveraging cloud-based technologies for big data processing.
- Convert complex data and methodologies into actionable insights and recommendations that can be practically applied to operations.
- Effectively communicate technical insights in a clear manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, fostering understanding and buy-in through verbal and visual presentations.
- Proactively identify trends and opportunities for innovation in processes and methodologies.
- Document all workflows and code, and contribute to community best practices by sharing knowledge and reusable solutions.
- Demonstrate strong team collaboration, embodying the core values of the organization and engaging with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
Qualifications
Required:
- An advanced degree in fields such as Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in developing models and algorithms in a commercial setting with proven business outcomes.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python; knowledge of an additional programming language (such as R, Java, or C++) is advantageous.
- Expertise in statistical modeling techniques (e.g., clustering, regression, factor analysis, time-series forecasting, Bayesian methods) and machine learning methods (e.g., Random Forest, KNN, SVM, boosting and bagging, regularization).
- Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, GCP, or their on-premise equivalents.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, deliverables, and stakeholders across different business areas.
Preferred:
- Experience with deep learning and neural networks, particularly with frameworks like TensorFlow.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., D3.js, R Shiny, Looker, Tableau).
- Familiarity with Spark or MapReduce.
- Experience working within agile project management methodologies.
- Prior experience in retail or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industries.
