Maxval – Data Analyst
Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented professional to join our Patent Renewals team. This role involves ensuring data accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in the renewal process.
Job Responsibilities
- Identify and address patent data discrepancies to minimize risks associated with intellectual property (IP) payments.
- Conduct precise data audits by cross-referencing patent office registers.
- Manage extensive datasets using Excel functions such as IF, SUM, INDEX, MATCH, and VLOOKUP.
- Develop simple automations using VBA (preferred but not mandatory).
- Compare and analyze large data files to uphold data accuracy.
- Utilize advanced Excel formulas to extract, compare, and validate datasets efficiently.
- Review and analyze data integrity reports, ensuring necessary follow-ups are completed promptly.
- Perform reconciliations to maintain up-to-date client portfolios.
- Verify renewal reports to ensure correct due dates are generated in the system.
- Assist the operations team by resolving client IP payment data issues and managing IP regulations for designated regions.
- Assess data trends and apply relevant metrics for effective reporting.
- Work collaboratively within the IP payment services team.
- Conduct routine quality checks to prevent missed renewals.
- Monitor portfolio reports to track new assets and status updates.
- Generate and reconcile Symphony-related reports to maintain renewal accuracy.
- Maintain internal databases, tracking tools, and project timelines efficiently.
- Contribute to process enhancements to reduce errors, improve quality, and meet service-level agreements (SLAs).
- Achieve key performance metrics, including response time, accuracy, and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Science, Commerce, Finance, or Engineering.
- Experience: Open to freshers; prior experience in Finance or Intellectual Property (IP) is advantageous.
- Analytical Abilities: Strong skills in evaluating portfolio data and making informed recommendations.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication for effective client and team interactions.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy in renewal processes and documentation.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); familiarity with patent management software is beneficial.
- Task Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage expectations, and work independently.
