Job Description

SUMMARY OF POSITION

  • The intern will join the Engineering R&D team, focusing on the development and maintenance of medical devices.
  • They will collaborate with engineering staff to address technical challenges.
  • Responsibilities will include creating design documents, writing code, developing test plans, and preparing other project-related materials.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow established software engineering policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Analyze software design requirements.
  • Participate in the design, development, testing, debugging, and implementation of software components, tools, and utilities.
  • Apply effective coding practices.
  • Contribute effectively within a team setting.
  • Plan, execute, and manage assigned projects to achieve targeted outcomes.
  • Take on initiatives related to new technologies or therapies, from design through implementation, using specialized skills.
  • Implement minor adjustments in systems and processes to address issues.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Proficiency in modeling and simulation software, with a preference for MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Understanding of multi-body kinematics and dynamics.
  • Skilled in matrix manipulation within graphical and text-based programming environments.
  • Experience with ROS, Unity, or other kinematics and physics simulation platforms.
  • Strong understanding of Linux and real-time operating systems.
  • Basic knowledge of communication protocols, such as serial and wireless.
  • Effective communication skills.

EDUCATION

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electronics and Communication, Instrumentation, Electrical and Electronics, or Computer Science (B.E. or B.Tech).
  • Preferred: Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Robotics (M.E. or M.Tech).
