Job Title: Graduate Engineer
Department: Miller Knoll Specials Engineering
Reports to: Team Leader, Miller Knoll Specials, Bengaluru
Job Purpose:
The Graduate Engineer will work under direct supervision, assisting with CAD tasks on small to medium-scale projects. The role involves applying basic engineering principles, ensuring quality standards, and collaborating effectively within a team. A strong emphasis is placed on planning, execution, and achieving project objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute engineering tasks as directed by leadership.
- Utilize software tools such as Pro E, PDM Link, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Adhere to standard engineering processes to maintain quality and accuracy, including BOM procedures.
- Work within established guidelines, with post-completion reviews to ensure correctness.
- Apply fundamental engineering knowledge to assigned projects.
- Seek guidance from senior engineers and leadership to enhance work accuracy and efficiency.
- Modify existing designs while understanding design intent and product applications.
- Provide component and product layout support for assigned projects.
- Manage master models and top-down design aspects for assigned tasks.
- Oversee CAD deliverables for small to mid-scale design and development projects.
- Identify and solve technical challenges, contributing to advancements in CAD and engineering tools.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with both internal and external stakeholders using various tools.
- Work collaboratively with external engineering partners.
- Assist engineers by providing input on part and assembly designs.
- Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support business objectives.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Creo Parametric, including non-seating parts, assemblies, product models, and engineering drawings.
- Expertise in solid modeling, sheet metal design, large assembly management, and engineering drawing creation.
- Experience with Windchill for handling family tables and managing engineering data.
- Ability to create industry-standard CAD models and specifications.
- Communication & Collaboration:
- Ability to participate in daily discussions, express challenges, and provide clear updates.
- Strong communication skills across different levels of the organization.
- Business Awareness:
- Understanding of how engineering decisions affect overall business outcomes.
Experience & Competencies:
- Work Experience: 2–3 years in mechanical engineering, product development, or continuous improvement projects.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Hands-on experience with Creo Parametric, assembly modeling, and 3D CAD software.
- Ability to generate clear and accurate engineering drawings.
- Personal Attributes:
- Analytical thinker with problem-solving abilities.
- Innovative approach to design and engineering challenges.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects effectively.
