Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

In this position, we seek an individual with a robust product design sense. The role entails collaborating on intricate technical projects within an innovative, fast-paced environment alongside peers. Key responsibilities include:

• Enhance analytics capabilities by developing faster, more reliable data pipelines and improved tools capable of managing petabytes of data daily.
• Innovate and create new platforms, migrating existing ones to AWS, facilitating widespread and easily accessible data for cluster users with low latency and horizontal scalability.
• Modify the data platform, conducting refactoring and redesign as necessary, and troubleshooting issues across the entire technical stack.
• Design and implement a real-time events pipeline for data ingestion to enable real-time dashboarding.
• Develop intricate and efficient functions to transform raw data sources into robust components of our data lake.
• Design and implement new components in AWS and Hadoop Eco System, ensuring successful project execution.
• Optimize and enhance existing features and data processes for improved performance and stability.
• Conduct peer design and code reviews, write unit tests, and support continuous integration.
• Maintain a strong focus on quality to ensure minimal production downtimes.
• Mentor peers, share information and knowledge, and contribute to building a cohesive team.
• Monitor job performances, manage file system/disk space, ensure cluster and database connectivity, oversee log files, manage backup/security, and troubleshoot user issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including infrastructure, network, and database teams.

Desired Skills

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills:

• Proficiency in data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
• Hands-on experience with Hadoop, MapReduce, Hive, and Spark.
• Excellent programming and debugging skills in Java/Scala.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python and Bash.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases like HBase and Cassandra.
• Exposure to BI Tools such as AWS QuickSight, Dashboarding, and Metrics.
• Hands-on programming experience with multithreaded applications.
• Knowledge of databases, SQL, and messaging queues like Kafka.
• Experience in developing streaming applications, e.g., Spark Streaming, Flink, Storm.
• Familiarity with AWS and cloud technologies, including S3.
• Experience with caching architectures like Redis and Memcached.
• Proficiency in memory optimization and garbage collection tuning.
• Experience with profiling and performance optimizations.
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies and DevOps practices.
