Job Description


About the job Red Hat’s Digital Experience Platform department is responsible for several applications that utilize common CI/CD tools and platforms. The primary focus of this role is to provide support for the infrastructure and collaborate with development teams that rely on these shared tools and systems. Our objective is to empower developers to enhance their performance while also striving to minimize our operational impact.

What you will do

  • Develop new pipeline automations.
  • Implement shared tools and solutions.
  • Create reusable CI/CD building blocks.
  • Address deployment failures caused by platform bugs.
  • Enable self-management for development teams through transparent tooling and training.
  • Participate in IT discussions regarding upcoming and ongoing changes affecting our CI/CD platform.
  • Incorporate tests and validations into the deployment process.
  • Respond to alarms and perform on-call duties during business hours, including a weekend on-call shift at least once a month.
  • Handle operational responsibilities related to pipeline errors, patching, migrations, and Akamai changes.

What you will bring

  • Strong knowledge of Docker or Podman.
  • Proficiency in RHEL/Linux.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD concepts.
  • Experience with CI tools.
  • Proficiency in shell scripting.
  • Some familiarity with Openshift 4.x or Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of Ansible is a plus.
  • Experience with Jenkins pipelines is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Drupal/PHP is a plus.
  • Knowledge of GitLab CI is a plus.
  • Familiarity with AWS is a plus.
  • Familiarity with OpenStack is a plus.
  • Interest in or familiarity with Golang is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Akamai or another CDN is a plus.
  • Comfortable engaging with developers to address daily challenges.
