Job Description


Royal Enfield is currently seeking a Lead Engineer to join our team!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

  1. Generate reports using standard data output formats and testing conclusions.
  2. Develop and implement calibrations for various engine mapping parameters including air charge, open loop fuel delivery, transient fuel ignition timing, IACV/throttle control, speed and power limits, closed-loop fueling, torque control, and relevant chassis functions.
  3. Coordinate testing aspects of engine and vehicle development projects by defining test criteria, system requirement specifications, creating test plans, and establishing goals, objectives, and schedules.
  4. Manage and update calibration processes to ensure compliance with Royal Enfield’s standards for vehicle driveability and performance.
  5. Participate in engine controller software meetings, comprehend engine control unit (ECU) software functions, and propose/validate algorithm changes as necessary.
  6. Conduct testing on new or enhanced engine components, facilitate engine integration, and collaborate closely with design and hardware teams. Produce formal documentation as needed.
  7. Contribute to root cause failure analysis during the development phase and recommend practical solutions for calibration parameters or calibration-related engine performance issues. Actively participate in Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  8. Provide calibration and end-of-line support for specific engine production testing at engine and vehicle assembly plants as requested.
  9. Utilize statistical, analytical, and other modern techniques to record and analyze test data. Research alternative approaches and implement solutions to achieve powertrain objectives.
  10. Interact and coordinate resources across multiple Powertrain and product group engineering sites, including the ability to travel up to 25% of the time to India and other countries.
  11. Fulfill any other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering.
