Job Description
Role Summary: As a Software Development Engineer in Test, your responsibility is to contribute to the quality release of features within the Sophos Email Security Product line. Collaborating with team members and the Quality Engineering organization, your focus will be on achieving high-quality, automation-driven software releases.
Responsibilities:
- Extracting test cases from the acceptance criteria of user stories.
- Implementing test automation for all owned test cases, stories, and features.
- Adhering to defined quality processes throughout the team’s release work.
- Participating in design and architecture discussions.
- Monitoring and troubleshooting issues within regression suites.
- Demonstrating the ability to learn and comprehend complex technical issues.
- Thriving in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Qualifications: Essential
- 0-3 years (for SE1) and 3-5 years (for SE2) of technical experience in Quality Engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Software Engineering or equivalent.
- Proficiency in CoreJava concepts with hands-on programming capability.
- Practical experience in test automation.
- Exposure to API testing using REST.
- Familiarity with existing automation frameworks.
- Competence in test planning and test case creation.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Hands-on experience with Linux/Unix.
Desirable
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Shell scripting, etc.
- Hands-on experience or understanding of CI/CD deployments.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum SDLC setup.
- Understanding or testing of MicroServices.
- Knowledge/experience with cloud-based platforms and technologies.
- Experience working with Jenkins.
