About the Role:

As a Junior Technology Engineer for our team, you will utilize your critical thinking and problem-solving skills to develop and maintain cutting-edge applications. Working alongside Senior Engineers and Architects in the squad, you will contribute to ensuring the security, scalability, and resilience of our applications. Our team is dedicated to working on innovative new products and transitioning to a modern development stack and the latest cloud integration technologies.
Your primary responsibilities include:
- Demonstrating passion for solving business problems through innovation and engineering practices as a member of our technology teams.
- Gaining a deep understanding of the current technology landscape and proposing enhancements, resolving technical issues, and providing hands-on configuration support.
- Collaborating with the team to develop conceptual and logical specifications for new solutions and delivering all components of the product solution (people, process, technology, and information).
- Assisting senior technology architects in evaluating vendor responses, conducting technology assessments, reviewing proposals for third-party solutions, and determining integration requirements within the Swiss Re environment.
- Working closely with the product owner, business analysts, and the technical team to gather and synthesize market research, user needs, business requirements, and technical approaches, as well as ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of implementations.
- Demonstrating a proactive approach, fast learning abilities, and the willingness to fill in gaps and handle ambiguous situations to help structure the team’s action plan.
About you:
To be successful in this role, you should possess or be in the process of obtaining:
- A university degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or a similar field) with knowledge of software development for designing and implementing technical solutions, considering business objectives, people change impacts, and various technologies.
- Previous software development experience is advantageous.
- Excellent analytical skills, reasoning ability, and a deep understanding of problem-solving techniques and technical knowledge, with a keen interest in learning cloud solutions, preferably in the Azure cloud stack.
- A passion for technology and a curious attitude toward learning integration technologies for Software-as-a-Service or off-the-shelf solutions.
- Good knowledge of working in an Agile environment.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
