The TCS Smart B.Sc Hiring program focuses on nurturing talent and providing comprehensive training to ensure candidates excel in their roles.

Follow these steps for registration:

  1. Log in to the TCS NextStep Portal:
    • Verification: Ensure Aadhaar details are correct. Incorrect details can lead to disqualification.
  2. Register and Apply:
    • Existing Users: Log in, complete the application form, and click on ‘Apply for Drive.’
    • New Users: Click on ‘Register Now,’ choose the category ‘IT,’ fill in your details, submit the application form, and click on ‘Apply for Drive.’
  3. Select Test Center: Choose your preferred test center and click ‘Apply.’ Note that the test center cannot be changed once chosen.
  4. Confirm Application Status: Check ‘Track Your Application’ to ensure the status reflects ‘Applied for Drive.’
  • This is an in-center test.
  • Seat allocation is on a ‘First-Come-First-Serve’ basis, so register early to select your preferred test center. Once seats are full, the selection of preferred cities will be restricted.
  • Have all original documents (Marksheets, Degree Certificate, Internship Letter, Work Experience Letter if any) ready.
  • Communication about the test will be shared by ‘TCS iON – Our Test Provider.’
  • TCS does not send job offers from unofficial email IDs or ask for money for job offers. TCS is not associated with any external agency/company to conduct interviews or make offers on its behalf.

The TCS B.Sc Ignite & Smart Hiring process is conducted by TCS iON. Candidates must take the test in person.

The assessment lasts 120 minutes and is divided into four sections:

  1. Numerical Ability
  2. Verbal Ability
  3. Reasoning Ability
  4. Coding (Optional) – Candidates can use C, C++, Java, Perl, or Python for the coding section.
  • Courses and Discipline: Full-time graduates from BCA, B.Sc (IT, Computer Science, Math, Data Science, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, Electronics, Cyber Security, Biochemistry), and B.Voc in CS/IT from the 2023 and 2024 batches are eligible.
  • Percentage: Candidates must have a minimum aggregate of 50% or equivalent CGPA in Class 10th, Class 12th, Diploma (if applicable), and Graduation, including successful completion of the final year/semester.
  • Backlogs:
    • 2023 Batch: Candidates should not have any backlogs during the TCS selection process. The course must be completed within its stipulated duration.
    • 2024 Batch: One active backlog is permitted during the TCS selection process, but the course must be completed without any backlogs within the stipulated duration to be eligible for joining TCS if selected.
  • Educational Gap/Break: Any gaps in education must be declared in the TCS Application Form. The total academic gap should not exceed 24 months until the highest qualification. Relevant proof will be required.
  • Extended Education: Courses must be completed within the stipulated duration without any backlogs to be eligible for joining TCS.
  • Course Types: Only full-time courses are considered. Part-time and correspondence courses are not eligible. Candidates who have completed their Secondary and/or Senior Secondary course from NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) are eligible if their other courses are full-time.
  • Age: Candidates must be between 18 and 28 years old.
  • Work Experience: This role is for entry-level candidates. Any prior work experience must be declared in the TCS Application Form, with necessary supporting documents submitted during the selection process.

The B.Sc hiring process has two categories: Ignite and Smart. Based on test performance, candidates are shortlisted for either Ignite or Smart hiring. The final offer category will depend on performance in the interview process.
