Job Description
About this role:
In the position of Engineer, you will leverage your knowledge and passion for contemporary engineering methodologies to contribute to the advancement of TransUnion UK products in alignment with the established roadmap. This involves the creation of services and components using C#, maintaining existing systems, and enhancing software maintainability through the implementation of automation and DevOps techniques.
You will be an integral part of a scrum team comprising approximately 7 individuals, consisting of both development and test engineers. Your development activities will follow an agile approach, collaborating closely with all members of the delivery team and its stakeholders. The application of modern development practices will be paramount to ensuring quality at every stage of the process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce well-structured and maintainable code.
- Elevate concerns or impediments to the Senior Software Developer when necessary.
- Engage in iterative development of deployable solutions.
- Conduct preliminary testing of own output before independent testing.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives.
- Facilitate effective communication with stakeholders and internal teams for expedited resolution of reported issues.
- Participate in quality assurance activities to guarantee product suitability.
Skills and Experience:
- Demonstrated programming experience, particularly in C#.
- Commitment to maintaining high quality and adhering to best practices.
- Proficiency in modern CI/CD practices and techniques.
- Inquisitive mindset towards new technologies and methodologies, actively staying informed.
- Experience in automated testing and deployment.
- Strong understanding of version control practices.
- Effective communication skills for interactions with both technical and non-technical staff.
