Job Description

What success looks like in this role:

  • Collaborate as a team member, learning new processes and tools.
  • Escalate issues when necessary.
  • Develop expertise in a specific area or product, relying on the team for domain knowledge.
  • Contribute to team learning and efficiency as experience is gained.
  • Receive task estimates typically from a supervisor or mentor, with some input. Tasks are limited in number and duration. Capture actual efforts in status reports.
  • Understand requirements for defined tasks.
  • Implement assigned tasks, developing simple features or test cases with assistance.
  • Write and run tests in specific product areas, documenting any issues found.
  • Execute prewritten tests and document encountered problems. Participate in system setup and maintenance activities.
  • Provide initial analysis of problems in defined areas and assist in gathering information for problem resolution.
  • Fix defects in defined areas of code and resolve simple issues with assistance. Create clear and accurate change or patch documentation. Review test cases for clarity and accuracy.
  • Handle contacts and User Change Forms (UCFs) in defined product areas with assistance, expediting resolutions.
  • Work effectively in virtual teams, receiving guidance from team members regardless of location.
  • Participate in innovation activities as part of a team, contributing to the creation of knowledge documents.

You will be successful in this role if you have:

  • An undergraduate degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
  • No prior experience required, though internship or co-op experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of engineering concepts.
  • The ability to work in a global team with multiple stakeholders across functions, business units, and geographical regions.
  • The ability to communicate task information effectively with clients.
  • A team-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a good command of the English language.
