Western Digital Off Campus Hiring 2024 – Engineer, Software Engineering
Role Overview
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop firmware utilizing C/C++ across various platforms including FPGA, Simulator, for NAND/eHDD products.
- Adhere to Agile methodologies throughout the development process.
- Create comprehensive design documentation for different stages of firmware development.
- Contribute to a scrum team focused on full-stack embedded firmware development for enterprise products, encompassing innovation, design, implementation, and debugging of data path, software algorithms, data structures, and drivers.
- Work on state-of-the-art storage products featuring interfaces such as SAS, SATA, and PCIe.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance HDD products.
- Demonstrate self-motivation, working both independently and as part of an agile team, while fostering collaboration and personal development within the group.
- Comprehend the entire product lifecycle.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication, or a related field.
- Minimum GPA of 8.0.
- Proficient in C/C++/C#, object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms.
- Strong problem-solving skills, algorithm design, system design, and complexity analysis.
- Quick learner with the ability to understand new technologies, complex code, and develop a holistic system perspective.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Enthusiastic team player with a positive attitude who enjoys challenges and celebrates success.
- Interest in storage technologies (HDD, Flash, non-volatile memory) which are integral to various modern technologies like AI, ML, Cloud, Autonomous driving, Social Media, Streaming and entertainment, and E-Commerce.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with micro-controller architecture (ARM or ARC), and embedded systems.
