Job Description

Job Profile:

The ideal candidate for this role should hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree with a strong academic background in one of the following areas: material science & engineering, chemical engineering, electrical engineering (with a specialization in VLSI/chip design), metallurgy, or mechanical engineering (with a specialization in material science). Alternatively, candidates with an educational background in sciences such as Physics or Chemistry will also be considered.

The candidate must exhibit a self-starter attitude and possess the ability to work with minimal guidance while being adept at cross-functional collaboration. They should demonstrate a systematic thinking approach in their assignments and be capable of synthesizing information to take effective action. Applying fundamental theories, principles, and concepts to solve real-world problems is expected.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collect, analyze, and compile data from basic process engineering experiments within safety guidelines.
  2. Perform hardware characterization on basic systems, adhering to safety guidelines.
  3. Troubleshoot basic problems, conduct Root Cause Analysis, and resolve process engineering issues.
  4. Measure film properties, organize data, and prepare reports for review.
  5. Generate internal documentation for products, presentations, and technical reports.
  6. Interact with customers to address basic process engineering issues under direct supervision.
  7. Collaborate with engineers, vendors, and suppliers under direct supervision.
  8. Acquire familiarity with implementing new technology, products, and analytical instrumentation.
  9. Work on system engineering projects involving electrical, mechanical, physics, algorithms, and software design, utilizing expertise in the technical area of specialty.
  10. Conduct tests and provide feedback on new designs and ongoing engineering improvements to product engineering and software.
  11. Identify and troubleshoot engineering problems within the technical expertise field, including serviceability and manufacturability.
  12. Collaborate with System Integration during product assembly and final testing.
  13. Review external equipment interfaces, analyze architecture ideas, and ensure they are up to date and documented.
  14. Interact with other groups on various issues, ranging from Facility, Hardware, Software, C&F, Service to Business Value End to End.

Education and Experience:

The minimum education requirement is a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in material science & engineering, chemical engineering, electrical engineering (with a specialization in VLSI/chip design), metallurgy, or mechanical engineering (with a specialization in material science). Candidates with educational backgrounds in Physics, Chemistry, or related fields will also be considered. Experience requirements range from no experience up to two years.
