We are seeking driven and talented individuals with a strong background in research across natural language processing (NLP), artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning (ML). As a Research Intern, you will collaborate with scientists at GE Aerospace Research to build and enhance search and recommendation systems aimed at improving engineering team efficiency.

In this role, you will design and implement algorithms to process aerospace-related data for recommendation engines, plan and execute experiments, perform detailed evaluations, and document your findings through technical reports, publications, or innovation disclosures. You will also be responsible for clearly presenting your insights to relevant stakeholders.

This position offers the opportunity to work on complex, real-world challenges specific to the aerospace industry, such as handling noisy or domain-specific data, understanding specialized terminology, and integrating NLP or LLM-based solutions into highly regulated and safety-critical workflows.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a full-time B.Tech degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline, with a focus on NLP, Machine Learning, AI, or Statistics.
  • Familiarity with Large Language Models, entity and relationship extraction techniques, and zero-shot or few-shot learning approaches.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, including experience building algorithms and data processing pipelines.
  • Ability to take initiative, adapt to uncertain or evolving requirements, and communicate effectively.

Preferred Candidate Profile

  • Experience in areas such as data analysis, optimization techniques, estimation methods, or detection algorithms.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Ongoing enrollment in a B.Tech program.
  • Hands-on experience in training, fine-tuning (including instruction tuning), and deploying Large Language Models.
  • Research contributions published in leading AI conferences or workshops.
  • Exposure to real-world industrial datasets and problem domains such as aviation, energy, healthcare, or manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of algorithm design, analysis, and implementation across various computing environments.
  • Knowledge of computer vision techniques is an added advantage.
