Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Tester to join our team. This QA Tester will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products by conducting thorough tests and identifying defects, inconsistencies, and areas for improvement. The ideal candidate should possess a strong commitment to quality, excellent communication skills, and exceptional attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Test Planning and Strategy:

  • Collaborate with the QA Manager and development teams to grasp project requirements and objectives.
  • Develop comprehensive test plans and strategies based on project specifications.
  • Prioritize test cases and define test coverage to ensure thorough testing of critical areas.

Test Execution:

  • Perform test cases, both manually and, when applicable, using automated testing tools.
  • Identify, document, and report defects and issues in a clear and organized manner.
  • Verify bug fixes and ensure they meet the defined acceptance criteria.

Regression Testing:

  • Conduct regression testing to ensure that new features and changes do not adversely affect existing functionality.
  • Maintain and update regression test suites.

Documentation:

  • Create and maintain detailed test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports.
  • Document testing processes and results to facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.

Automation:

  • Collaborate with the automation team to identify opportunities for test automation.
  • Participate in the development of automated test scripts and maintain automated test suites.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Offer feedback and suggestions for process improvements to enhance overall product quality.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in QA and testing methodologies.

Qualifications we are looking for:

Minimum qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Demonstrated experience in software quality assurance and testing, including manual and automated testing.
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify and document defects effectively.
  • Proficiency in using testing tools and frameworks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of test management and bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail).
  • Possession of ISTQB or other relevant certifications is a plus.
  • Experience with test automation tools and scripting languages is a plus.

Preferred qualifications:

  • This position may require occasional overtime and weekend work to meet project deadlines.
  • The QA Tester may need to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
