Job Responsibilities


Responsibilities:

Embedded software engineers at our organization encounter diverse challenges and responsibilities on a daily basis. Common tasks include collaborating in cross-discipline design teams with software, electrical, controls, and mechanical engineers to develop new equipment tailored to meet customer requirements. This involves the creation of embedded and interface software, contributing to schematic design, reviewing PCB layouts, prototyping circuits, debugging analog and digital hardware, automating testing, developing user libraries for hardware control, and producing comprehensive documentation. The role requires a keen understanding of, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues spanning various layers of software and PCB hardware. Coding proficiency in C, C++, and Python under Linux for diverse microcontrollers and computing modules is essential. Additionally, engineers closely collaborate with global teams of software, electrical, mechanical, and control engineers for the design and development of next-generation memory testers and provide support for existing equipment. Effective communication skills, both written and spoken, are crucial, along with the creation of technical documents.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants should hold a BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent field, demonstrating fluency in English and proficiency in C and C++. Familiarity with Python, fundamental electrical engineering knowledge, schematics, and lab equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, SMUs), along with a foundation in Computer Science, are essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with experience in embedded software tools, familiarity with PCB layout, proficiency in Python, Linux, and the GNU toolchain are preferred.
