Job Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain an efficient and effective data pipeline architecture that meets the business’s functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Compile and manage large and complex data sets utilizing SQL and Azure big data technologies for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading from various data sources.
  • Develop analytics tools that leverage the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into important business metrics, such as customer acquisition and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with various teams, including Executive, Product, Data, and Design, to support their data infrastructure needs and address data-related technical issues.
  • Ensure the security and separation of AECOM’s data across multiple data centers and regions.
  • Create data tools for the analytics and data science teams, helping them build and optimize AECOM’s products to remain a leading innovative industry player.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field.

Proficiency in working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL), and familiarity with various databases, such as SQL/nosql, ADLS, Databricks, ADF, Azure DevOps is essential.

Experience building and optimizing big data data pipelines, architectures, and data sets.

Ability to perform root cause analysis on both internal and external data and processes to identify areas of improvement and answer specific business questions.

Ability to work with unstructured datasets and possess strong analytical skills.

Capability to build processes that support data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management.

Capability to manipulate, process, and extract value from large disconnected datasets.

Familiarity with message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable big data data stores.

Strong organizational and project management skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with big data tools such as Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka.

Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases, including Postgres and Cassandra.

Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools like Azkaban, Luigi, and Airflow.

Experience with AWS cloud services like EC2, EMR, RDS, and Redshift.

Experience with stream-processing systems such as Storm and Spark-Streaming.

Proficiency in object-oriented/object function scripting languages like Python, Java, C++, and Scala is preferred.
