Gen Off Campus Hiring – Software QA Engineer
About the Role
In the position of Associate SQA Engineer, you will be tasked with testing both web and desktop applications end-to-end for Partner Engineering, utilizing both manual and automated tools. As a QA Engineer, you will be part of a team dedicated to onboarding our products for partners. Your daily activities will involve executing Partner onboarding deliverables across various platforms including PC, Mac, Android, and iOS. You should be knowledgeable in software test planning, requirement tracing, and debugging, working closely with component teams to resolve any issues.
What You Will Do in This Role
- Automate End-to-End Onboarding across all platforms.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Design, execute, and maintain automation frameworks and scripts.
- Develop automation tests using scripting languages, preferably Python.
- Perform manual testing for daily activities, both planned and ad-hoc.
- Engage in meetings and reviews with team members and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and analyze project requirements.
- Investigate bugs using available tools and logs.
- Support deployments and maintenance activities.
What You’ll Need to be Successful in this Role
- A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field with 0-2 years of relevant work experience.
- 0-2 years of hands-on programming and automation testing experience.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Perl, Ruby, Python, or JavaScript.
- Familiarity with frameworks like Selenium and Cucumber.
- Understanding of web applications, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, HTTP protocol, REST API, cookies/sessions, and browser differences.
- Experience in QA testing of customer-facing web applications and client applications.
- Strong general QA skills, including test plan creation, test case development, defect analysis, and reporting, and test automation.
- In-depth knowledge of formal SDLC and QA methodologies.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, particularly SCRUM.
- Experience with cross-browser, cross-platform, and mobile device testing.
- Proficiency with tools like Jira, Jenkins, Git, Perforce, Confluence, etc.
- A demonstrated ability to learn new skills and tackle new challenges.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience with new QA automation frameworks is a plus.
