Discovering L’Oréal Sustainability Challenge 2023
In its 7th edition, L’Oréal reintroduces the Sustainability Challenge 2023, an all-digital competition aligned with L’Oréal’s sustainability agenda. At L’Oréal, our continuous efforts are geared towards nurturing a responsible and sustainable business model.
Our commitments revolve around three vital pillars: the planet, the people, and our products. Through various initiatives and daily actions, we strive to achieve our objectives and set an exemplary standard. L’Oréal recognized the pressing need to address challenges arising from the global environmental crisis early on.
Explore our accomplishments and our targets for 2030.
To chart L’Oréal’s next steps in sustainability, seven internal expert panels have been diligently working since April 2019, conducting independent studies and collaborating with external partners and civil society. The outcome is a well-defined strategy, complete with measurable, time-bound targets for reducing impact. This strategy will steer our internal transformation, that of our stakeholders, and our contribution to addressing urgent social and environmental needs.
This year, the focus of the L’Oréal Sustainability Challenge is on the PEOPLE & PLANET pillar. Our aim is to create long-term, sustainable impacts. To achieve this, we are seeking the participation of young, passionate change agents like you to contribute to a better and more sustainable planet. Additionally, we want to build a community of consumers and supporters who can embark on this journey with us.
Eligibility and Team Guidelines:
The challenge is open to all full-time undergraduate and postgraduate students in their final and pre-final years, regardless of their discipline and college in India. Each team should comprise exactly three members. Each team member must register using their official college email IDs. In cases where official college email IDs are not provided, personal email addresses can be used. Cross-specialization and cross-college teams are eligible, but cross-year teams are not allowed. A student cannot be part of more than one team. Any deviation from the above rules will result in the immediate disqualification of the entire team. Team modifications after registration are not permitted. All decisions regarding eligibility will be made by L’Oréal & Unstop.
Competition Structure:
The competition consists of four rounds, and each team must register and successfully complete all of them.
Round 1: Treasure Hunt Round
Test your knowledge of the world today and L’Oréal by answering 20 multiple-choice questions within a two-week window. Quick responses earn bonus points, giving you an early advantage in the competition. Only the Team Leader can participate in the treasure hunt round, while the rest of the team can provide support. Participation in the treasure hunt is mandatory for all teams.
Round 2: Online Aptitude Assessment
Teams shortlisted from the treasure hunt round will receive a set of questions to be answered within 20 minutes. Scoring will be based on accuracy, speed, and start time. All team members must complete the assessment, and the team’s score will be an average of all members’ marks. The assessment will cover general aptitude.
Round 3: Executive Summary Submission Round
Teams must choose between the PEOPLE or PLANET track, and a case study will be provided. Each team must submit a solution comprising three slides and a 2-minute video to present their ideas. The three slides do not include the title slide and thank you slide. Proper credit should be given for any references used, and there is no predefined format. Creativity is encouraged to create the best presentation.
Round 4: Jury Presentation
The top 20 teams with the best ideas will be selected for Round 4, where they will pitch their ideas to L’Oréal leaders through virtual presentations. Before the presentation, each team will have the exclusive opportunity to be mentored by function experts from L’Oréal.
Round 5: Grand Finale
The top 10 teams from Round 4 will present their ideas to a Grand Jury.
Rewards and Prizes:
In addition to invaluable experience, winners can look forward to the following rewards:
