Job Description

Nokia Off Campus Hiring 2026 – Research Intern

Key Responsibilities

• Build and enhance features within a next-generation wireless network prototyping platform powered by machine learning.
• Optimize, deploy, and evaluate AI/ML models on GPU-enabled and accelerated edge hardware.
• Set up and manage Software Defined Radio (SDR) systems for baseband processing and over-the-air (OTA) testing.
• Plan and execute experiments focused on AI-driven waveforms, channel estimation techniques, end-to-end learning, and adaptive communication methods.
• Work closely with Bell Labs Core Research teams specializing in wireless systems, machine learning, and embedded technologies.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Must have:

• Current enrollment in a Master’s or Ph.D. program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• Strong fundamentals in wireless communication systems, networking, and/or machine learning.
• Proficiency in programming with Python and C++.
• Hands-on experience working in Linux environments, with embedded systems and large open-source codebases.

Good to have:

• Knowledge of 4G/5G NR PHY and MAC layers, including signal structures and procedures.
• Experience running and optimizing ML models on embedded GPU platforms.
• Familiarity with RF calibration, synchronization, and practical OTA experimentation.
• Prior contributions to open-source projects or published research in wireless communications or machine learning.
