Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teams across process, equipment, and automation to enhance data-driven process improvements through the implementation of AI models.
  • Partner with process development experts to identify the most relevant applications, requirements, and limitations for AI models.
  • Develop and, if necessary, build the infrastructure needed for the optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various sources.
  • Ensure the usability of implemented AI models globally through user-friendly interfaces like HMIs or WebApps.
  • Execute and support process planning, preparation, and analysis of Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Implement scalable pipelines for transforming data (e.g., quality metrics, process parameters) to make it accessible for AI model processing.
  • Support sampling activities and review and analyze sampling reports.
  • Implement cloud-based solutions for scalability and perform unit, integration, and regression testing with log files.
  • Ensure data quality for targeted development processes and usage.
  • Act as a liaison between Manufacturing Technology and Simulation/Automation/Digitalization teams.
  • Identify new trends and assess their potential applications in Process Development.
  • Discuss and create new features in AI models to improve their functionality and accuracy.
  • Integrate new features into AI models or adapt code for new use cases, such as implementing monitoring pipelines, continuous integration, and continuous testing to improve accuracy over time.
  • Explore opportunities to utilize production or quality data in AI models to enhance manufacturing efficiency and drive product improvements.

Experience:

  • A university degree in Computer Science and Engineering, Autonomous Systems/AI, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in programming languages, MLOps, and application development and deployment.
  • Experience in implementing AI models and pipelines; familiarity with Graph Convolutional Networks (CNNs) is advantageous.
  • Understanding of plastics manufacturing processes and automation, particularly in an automotive setting, is preferred.
  • Proficiency in the primary language of the location and English.
  • Willingness to travel.
