Job Title: Applications Development Programmer Analyst (Intermediate Level)
Job Summary:
This role is designed for individuals at the intermediate level who will assist in the design, development, and deployment of new or updated software systems in collaboration with the Technology team. The primary goal is to support application analysis and programming functions that drive technology initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply an understanding of software development practices and foundational knowledge of related technical areas to identify system enhancements.
- Troubleshoot and evaluate technical issues, offer actionable recommendations, and implement approved changes.
- Use insights into both business operations and system workflows, as well as knowledge of industry best practices, to address and resolve complex problems.
- Analyze available data to provide informed recommendations for process improvements and system functionality.
- Participate in testing, debugging, and scripting; write simple code based on design specifications.
- Adapt prior experiences to assess situations not explicitly outlined by procedures and evaluate the most appropriate solutions.
- Gain familiarity with Citi’s IT infrastructure including server-side development, network systems, database management, systems operations, and desktop applications.
- Make informed decisions with awareness of associated risks, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards while upholding ethical business conduct and maintaining transparency in managing and reporting control issues.
Qualifications:
- 0 to 2 years of relevant experience in application development.
- Hands-on experience with coding and debugging in business applications.
- Familiarity with common industry standards and practices.
- Strong understanding of the relevant business domain for software solutions.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on clarity and precision.
Educational Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in a relevant field.
