What You’ll Do
- Contribute to the full software development lifecycle including design, coding, testing, deployment, maintenance, and continuous improvement.
- Convert functional and technical requirements into well-structured architecture and design solutions.
- Apply strong knowledge of BDD/TDD principles, code analysis, reviews, and agile testing frameworks.
- Collaborate with peers through technical discussions, code reviews, and design evaluations to uphold high engineering standards.
- Bring creativity and innovation to problem solving; prior experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and tools for deployment/automation such as Docker, Chef, Terraform, ECS, or ECR is highly valued.
- Leverage expertise in system design focusing on scalability, reliability, and performance optimization.
Required Experience
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in Computer Science or a related discipline, with expected graduation by June 2024.
- Academic or practical exposure to programming in Java, Python, or similar languages.
- Experience in building accessible, user-friendly applications.
- Ability to produce high-quality, maintainable, and robust code.
- Strong skills in debugging, troubleshooting, and resolving production software issues.
- Familiarity with the modern software development lifecycle including CI/CD practices.
- Capability to work effectively within complex business environments involving multiple stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of front-end development using HTML, JavaScript, AngularJS, Angular 12+, or Bootstrap.
- Understanding of common design patterns.
- Experience in agile methodologies such as Scrum or XP.
- Proficiency in software quality practices like TDD (JUnit), test automation (Gauge, Cucumber, FitNesse), and CI tools (Jenkins, GoCD).
- Experience with relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL).
- Exposure to cloud computing concepts and SaaS models.
- Familiarity with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket).
- Hands-on experience with big data technologies (Spark, Kafka, Hadoop) or NoSQL databases (Cassandra).
