Amazon India is actively seeking dedicated, hardworking, and analytical candidates with a proven track record of performance and results-oriented thinking. The position is for the Buyer Abuse Operations Team based in Bangalore on a seasonal/short-term basis for one year, with a possibility of conversion based on performance.

Candidates selected for this role will be responsible for a broad range of tasks related to investigating and mitigating e-commerce risks. Ideal applicants will have prior experience in e-commerce payments, trust and safety, and a successful history of working in a customer-driven environment. Analytical skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment are essential traits for all candidates.

The Investigations Specialist role requires excellent judgment to set and achieve goals and operates under limited supervision from the Manager. Successful candidates must possess strong problem-solving and analytical skills to verify customers and complex transactions. Most decisions are expected to be made independently, demonstrating a high degree of accuracy and self-reliance.

Regular written and verbal communication with department management, risk analysts, risk engineers, and other company associates will be a crucial aspect of the Investigations Specialist position in order to accomplish goals effectively.

Key job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Investigating suspicious activities and behaviors that may pose risks to Amazon or its customers in global markets.
  • Ensuring high-quality decision-making by following standard operational procedures for Buyer Abuse prevention.
  • Identifying known abuse patterns, detecting new trends in modus operandi, and taking necessary actions to minimize risks.
  • Utilizing a variety of internet and in-house tools to research transactions and gather data for accurate decision-making.
  • Taking appropriate actions to identify and minimize Amazon’s financial, legal, and reputational risks.
  • Upholding strict confidentiality and data security standards.
  • Meeting weekly productivity and quality standards for investigations.
  • Communicating via email with internal customers and financial institutions to make informed decisions about risk.

Additional Information:

  • Shifts: Rotational (24*7 shift environment with rotational shifts)
  • Weekly Off: Rotational two-consecutive days off (5-day working week with 2 consecutive days off)

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficiency in spoken, written, and reading English.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule/shift, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
  • Education Qualification: Graduation in any stream.
  • A passion for learning, keeping up with risk trends in the e-commerce market, and commitment to Amazon’s customer-centric approach.
  • Good time management skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues clearly to both internal and external customers.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in handling and interpreting large sets of data.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team in a dynamic environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience or knowledge of fraud, risk management, data research, collections, or banking will be considered an added advantage
