Job Responsibilities

  • Graphics Arts Knowledge: A thorough understanding of the graphics arts and printing industry.
  • Adobe Creative Suite: Proficiency in using Adobe Creative Suite software, specifically Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
  • Process Management: Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies, configuration management, and software test environment control.
  • Requirements Analysis: Ability to analyze requirements and user stories using formal methodologies and techniques to identify gaps.
  • Testing: Expertise in test case design using various techniques and approaches to achieve optimal test coverage. This includes test data generation and selection, test execution, and test reporting. Familiarity with different types of testing, such as system integration testing, regression testing, and performance testing, as well as a good understanding of the bug life cycle.
  • Technology: Good understanding of web and/or client/server technology, with experience in workflow management software and products.
  • Tools: Experience using Jira or other similar tools for project management, Test Link or other tools for test case management, and Perforce or other version control tools.
  • Operating Systems: Working experience with products and applications designed for Windows and Mac operating systems.
  • Quality Assurance: Knowledge of software quality assurance and quality control, including productivity and quality metrics being tracked in the project.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken. Ability to facilitate meetings, ask the right questions, actively listen, and collect the right inputs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gain in-depth knowledge of various software and testing methodologies used by the organisation.
  • Analyze requirements (epics and stories) during the project’s requirement analysis phase.
  • Identify gaps and clarifications in requirements and report them to the Lead and Product Owner for resolution. Ensure that the findings are logged in the tool and tracked to closure.
  • Monitor and track new requirements/changes during the requirement understanding and clarification process and bring them to the Lead’s attention.
  • Establish and enforce all testing procedures and processes for the product/project as per the organization’s defined standards.
  • Write detailed test cases to ensure optimal coverage of the software product features. Prepare a traceability matrix to validate the test coverage.
  • Verify if the product behaves as expected across releases in multiple environments, understanding the product specifications.
  • Review the test deliverables produced by other team members and enter the review findings in the defect management tool identified for the project.
  • Document the steps that demonstrate a problem and can reproduce and communicate these steps.
  • Track and report on testing activities, including testing results, test case coverage, required resources, defects discovered and their status, etc.
  • Analyze a specific problem reported, identify the root cause, and generate a detailed report.
  • Interact with team leaders on project status and resolution of critical issues. Promptly escalate unresolved dependencies and issues that affect product delivery and quality beyond the scope of influence, and report the same to the Lead.
  • Ensure quality and on-time delivery of agreed deliverables. Pay high attention to detail in all work.
  • Document and maintain the content and structure of all testing documents/artifacts.

Experience

  • Requirements for Software Product Tester
  • Work experience: Applicants should have 0 to 4 years of relevant work experience in software product testing. However, graduates who have completed Engineering courses in 2021 and have no prior work experience may also apply.
  • Industry experience: Professionals with prior working experience should have a good understanding of Printing, Packaging, and Graphics Industry.
  • Technical skills: Applicants should have relevant work experience in software product testing, including skills in test case writing, test execution, analysis, and reporting.
  • Knowledge: A very good understanding of software development and testing processes is necessary for the role.
