Job Description
Disney+ Hotstar is seeking candidates for the position of Software Development Engineer Test II.
Responsibilities:
- Develop highly scalable test frameworks, systems, and infrastructure capable of handling thousands of tests daily.
- Ensure test automation results are highly reliable, enabling seamless releases.
- Offer innovative solutions to complex test automation challenges independently.
- Collaborate with Product, UX, and Development teams to deliver high-quality discovery experiences across Mobile, Web, and Living Room devices for potentially over 300 million users.
- Coordinate with stakeholders across functions to align the Quality team with business objectives.
- Assist peers in creating Quality Engineering roadmaps and test systems to enhance product quality, and execute projects supporting Quality goals.
- Contribute to the CEX Org QE team, supporting the CEX Discovery team comprising 50+ engineers working on Home and Details UX, Personalization, and Search.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in automation for Front-end client applications like Mobile, TVs, Top Boxes, or Living Room devices.
- Understanding of REST APIs, including request-response structures, error and status codes.
- Familiarity with SQL, DB scripting, and backend tool or framework development for testing Rest APIs, microservices, data migration, failover scenarios, blue-green, or canary deployment procedures.
- Knowledgeable about CI/CD and Shift Left principles, and adept at building distributed systems for performance and scale testing.
- Experience with distributed heterogeneous microservices architecture, as well as caches like Aerospike, DynamoDB, Elastic Search, Hadoop, Cassandra, and Kafka.
- Familiarity with Amazon AWS or similar cloud providers.
- Proficiency in industry best practices in software development processes such as Unit testing, OOPS, design, code reviews, etc.
- Hands-on experience with Linux commands and shell scripts.
- Good understanding of building and publishing POCs.
