Poshmark Off Campus Hiring – Site Reliability Engineering Intern
Internship Overview
As an intern, you will collaborate with seasoned Site Reliability Engineers and development teams to gain practical exposure to live production environments. This role offers hands-on experience with system monitoring, automation workflows, and incident response practices used in real-world operations.
6-Month Internship Learning Outcomes
- Develop a solid understanding of Poshmark’s technical architecture, infrastructure, and core product systems.
- Build foundational knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering concepts such as observability, alerting, automation, and incident handling.
- Gain practical experience with cloud platforms and DevOps tools used by the CloudOps team.
- Support the development or improvement of automation scripts, dashboards, and internal utilities.
- Work on small, guided projects under the mentorship of senior engineers.
- Learn how on-call rotations and incident management processes function (without owning primary on-call responsibilities).
Key Responsibilities
- Help monitor service health, performance, and uptime across production systems.
- Assist senior engineers with deployment, maintenance, and optimization of infrastructure and services.
- Create or update dashboards, alerts, and operational documentation such as runbooks.
- Support troubleshooting of basic production issues and contribute to post-incident analysis.
- Partner with application development teams to understand system behavior and operational requirements.
- Adhere to best practices related to reliability, security, and automation.
- Clearly document tools, processes, and learnings for team reference.
Desired Skills & Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Computer Science, Information Technology, or related program.
- Fundamental knowledge of Linux or UNIX-based systems.
- Exposure to at least one programming or scripting language such as Python, Ruby, or Bash.
- Basic familiarity with cloud computing concepts (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Strong interest in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or cloud infrastructure roles.
- Eagerness to learn new technologies and operational methodologies.
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities with a self-driven learning attitude.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
