About the Role

As a Hinge Health software engineering intern, you will join small, interdisciplinary teams focusing on different aspects of the user experience. Your contributions will include developing Proof of Concepts and enhancing robust APIs that support our client applications. Interns play a crucial role by adding new minor features, addressing technical debt, exploring innovative solutions, and ensuring the smooth operation of live sites. Additionally, you’ll assist in automating our services end-to-end.

Our Tech Stack

We work with technologies such as Node.js, TypeScript, Nest.js, GraphQL, Docker, React, React Native, Rails, Aptible, AWS, Postgres, Redis, Apollo, and Redux. Our development process follows a trunk-based CI/CD workflow.

Responsibilities

• Daily Tasks: Solve small-scale problems using an Agile red/green/refactor methodology.
• Sprint Goals: Build, test, and deploy meaningful minor features.
• Code Reviews: Review twice as many pull requests as you open.
• Monthly Objectives: Address performance and scaling challenges, balancing feature development with long-term technical improvements.

Basic Qualifications

• Educational Background: Final-year students pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, AI, or Electronics.
• Delivery: Consistent, timely, high-quality completion of detailed tasks.
• Domain Expertise: Knowledge of web frameworks like Rails, TypeScript, Node.js, or AWS serverless solutions is advantageous.
• Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to develop resourceful, iterative solutions and make reversible decisions.
• Communication: Effective and inclusive communication with both technical and non-technical team members.
• Leadership: Proven track record of ownership, initiative, tenacity, integrity, and humility.
