Optum Off Campus Hiring 2025 – Software Engineer
Primary Responsibilities:
- Build and manage GitHub Runners in public cloud environments and develop automation solutions to streamline workflows.
- Ensure CI/CD pipelines are well-documented, scalable, reusable, and follow industry best practices.
- Lead automation initiatives using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and GitHub-native tools to minimize manual work and enhance efficiency.
- Utilize AI-powered development methods to accelerate coding, testing, and documentation processes.
- Experiment with and validate new concepts using LLM-based tools, vibe coding techniques, and rapid prototyping frameworks.
- Integrate advanced AI components such as agent-based frameworks, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), vector databases, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) to expand platform capabilities.
- Prepare and maintain documentation of workflows, configurations, and best practices to support knowledge sharing and operational consistency.
- Collaborate with security, engineering, and development teams to encourage adoption of GitHub Actions, provide training, and promote effective practices.
- Adhere to organizational policies, employment terms, and evolving directives related to work location, team structures, flexible work models, and other business requirements as determined by the company.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure and container orchestration platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Amazon CodeWhisperer.
- Strong proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, and Node.js.
- Good understanding of software development fundamentals, version control (Git/GitHub), CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
- Ability to design effective prompts for generative AI models to achieve optimal outputs.
